Office of Primary Care Access

Overview

The Office of Primary Care Access (OPCA) was established in July 2012 to support the Health Systems and Infrastructure Administration. HSIA offices define and measure Maryland's health status, access, and quality indicators for use in planning and determining public health policy. OPCA improves access to quality health services in Maryland through a number of policy levers.

The goal of Office of Primary Care Access (OPCA) is to improve access to healthcare for all Maryland residents. OPCA is comprised of the Office of Primary Care, Workforce Development Office, and the Office of Rural Health. Activities undertaken in these offices fall into two categories: strategic planning and program administration.
