What are Outreach Specialty Clinics?

Outreach specialty clinics bring pediatric specialists like neurologists and endocrinologists to local communities. Local children can be seen for a consultation or on an ongoing basis by these specialists. For many families, this lessens the burden of needing to travel long distances to major medical centers for their child’s specialist visits.

In partnership with the Local Health Departments and the major pediatric medical centers serving Maryland children, the Office for Genetics and Children with Special Health Care Needs supports the operation of a number of pediatric outreach specialty clinics throughout the state. These clinics can see children both with and without health insurance.
